UVTOCMaintenance.fm Pressure/Leak Test
7.7 Pressure/Leak Test
If relay contacts are connected to ac line voltage, remotely disconnect
the power before opening the analyzer’s upper enclosure door. See
Safety Note 7.1 on page 111 before performing this procedure.
The pressure/leak test reasonably verifies that the O-rings have seated and
that they are sealing the IR cell assembly. To perform this test:
1. Remove the outlet tube from the IR cell assembly and plug the outlet tube.
Refer to Figure 43.
2. Observe that the bubbles in the GLS U-tube consistently travel from front
to back. If they do, the cell O-rings are providing a sufficient seal.
Failure of this test may also indicate a cracked condenser or leaking
GLS fitting.

7.8 IR Cell Replacement
Disconnect all power sources to the analyzer and to the relays before
replacing the IR Cell.
7.8.1 Thumb Latch Adjustment
After an IR cell is replaced, improper
adjustment of the latch can damage
the new cell assembly and make
mirror alignment impossible.
1. Remove the IR cell by releasing the thumb latch.
2. Loosen the retaining nut on the piston latch. Refer to Figure 44 and Figure
45 on page 120.
3. Place the IR cell in the optical bench, align the pin(s) and move the latch
to engage the piston in the indentation on the end of the cell.
Plug this port as shown here.
