2.2.1 Wiring the Instrument for ac Power
Refer to the electrical and environmental requirements in Section 2.2 on
page 30 and connect the unpowered wires to the instrument power terminal
as follows:
Important Note: The ac mains current must be limited with a 15-amp circuit
breaker. The manufacturer recommends using the breaker as the local disconnect.
See Figure 15 on page 37.
1. Disconnect all ac mains to the analyzer at the local disconnect.
2. Route the ac mains wire into the analyzer through the opening as shown
in Figure 15 on page 37 or Figure 16 on page 37.
3. If using double-insulated wire, strip the outside insulation back 2.5 cm
(1 inch). Strip the outside insulation of each individual wire back 1 cm
(¼-inch). Refer to Technical Specifications on page 13 for appropriate
wire sizes.
4. Remove the customer access cover, see Figure 13.
5. Connect the three wires to the left end of the surge suppressor according
to the information in Table 3 and Figure 14. Tug gently on the wires to
ensure the connections are tight.
