UVTOCUnpacking Installation Setup.fm Drain and Vent Connections
The calibration connection is also
used for introducing the validation
standard and grab sample.
Install a short standpipe of 300 mm (12 in.) on the outlet leading to waste.
The outlet must be at ambient pressure.
The appropriate fittings, control valve, and tubing are user-supplied.
The connection ports on the fast-loop entry manifold are
1
/8-inch NPT.
The tube weight ensures that the fluid tube is at the bottom of the container.
Hand-tighten all fluid fittings. Do not overtighten.
2.8 Drain and Vent Connections
The analyzer produces waste gas and water. Refer to Figure 27 on page 48
for connection information.
A ¼-in. NPT (6 mm) port is provided to allow vent line extension for safe
venting to the atmosphere. Ensure that no vacuum or pressure is applied to
the vent line. Waste gas composition must be determined by the user and
dealt with appropriately based on type of gas and its occupational
threshold limits.
2.8.1 Dual Stream Option
Danger: Depending on the user’s
sample composition, waste
gases may be hazardous and
should be vented safely to the
atmosphere. See Safety Note 5 on
page 184 for Spanish, French,
German, or Italian translations.
Optional dual stream analyzers are shipped with the dual stream valve
detached from the analyzer. Use the components in the startup kit to attach
the valve after the analyzer has been securely placed in its permanent
mounting location.
Wastewater is removed from the analyzer through the liquid drain shown in
Figure 27. The liquid waste drain pipe is extended out of the fluids (bottom)
cabinet via a 1½ inch drain pipe assembly. The wastewater is slightly acidic
and may be discharged to a common drain (at ambient pressure) without
special considerations. The drain installation must include the drain pipe
assembly to maintain the enclosure environmental ratings. Install the
extension at ambient pressure and at a downward slope.
