5.2.6.3 Map Relays
Mapping events to relays allows the user to customize the system. In addition,
the relay state, either energized or deenergized, may be selected. If relay S1
is mapped to Alarm 1 and selected as energized, the relay coil will be
energized when Alarm 1 occurs.
Multiple events cannot be mapped
to one relay, however an event can
be mapped to multiple relays.
When the UP button is pressed after mapping the channels, the Map relays
screen is displayed.
Press ENTER. The Screen to map S1 relay is displayed.
Relay S1 may be mapped to:
Alarm 1—a rising level nonlatched alarm.
Alarm 2—a rising level nonlatched alarm.
Online—the Online status of an analyzer indicates that the analyzer analog
outputs (4-20 mA) are representative of the current TOC reading. When
mapped to an output relay, the Online status allows DCS systems to
determine that the 4-20 mA is representative of the current TOC reading. This
is necessary because if the analyzer is not currently measuring the sample
stream the 4-20 mA output may be latched to the last valid TOC reading when
it was measuring the sample. The Online relay will not be in its TRUE status
during this time. Furthermore, when the analog output has been mapped to
Live mg/L, the output will reflect whatever is being analyzed.
Offline—activated when the analyzer is not online, such as when it is
warming up, purging, cleaning, calibrating, validating, or providing a single
sample reading.
Maintenance—activated when any of the maintenance events occurs, such
as low reagents, and zero stability. These are detailed in section 8.3 on
page 132.
Fault—activated when any of the fault events occur, such as no sparger flow,
no UV lamp flow, no carrier gas. Faults are detailed in section 8.4 on
page 135.
