Card Cage Assembly
Card Cage 1. Remove the front and rear panels.
2. Remove the ADD valve board.
3. From the front cavity, disconnect all connectors and the ground from the
backplane PCB.
4. Follow the directions for the removal of the centrifuge distribution PCB
(see “Centrifuge Distribution PCB” on page 132).
5. Remove the four Phillips head screws at the base of the card cage that
secure it to the bottom of the device. Remove the card cage through the
rear of the device. The cage is ultimately removed along with the
backplane PCB.
Note: The card cage will not come straight out. It must be angled toward the
centrifuge in order to have the back plane board clear the centrifuge.
Note: The (2) main PCBs use similar backplane connectors, but the orange
keys prevent installing the PCB in the wrong location.
Centrifuge
Distribution
PCB
The centrifuge distribution PCB is the third PCB to the right, facing the rear of
the device. There is an empty slot to the right of the CPU.
1. Remove the front and rear panels.
2. Disconnect the connectors from the centrifuge distribution PCB, then
unclasp the PCB levers and slide the centrifuge distribution PCB out of
the card cage.
ADD Valve PCB 1. Remove the front panel.
2. Disconnect all connectors from the ADD valve card.
3. Remove the (4) Phillips head screws.
CPU PCB The CPU PCB is located in the first slot on the left, facing the rear of the device.
1. Remove the rear panel.
2. Unclasp the PCB levers and unplug the processor PCB from the
backplane PCB.
3. Slide the PCB out of the card cage.
