Shaker A dedicated shaker properly mixes the blood in the RBC bag with the added
solutions. The shaker connects to the rear panel of the device through a hard-
wired cable with a 15-pin subminiature “D” connector (see Figure 8 on page
29). The function of each pin is defined in Table 1 on page 29.

The device provides power to the shaker and controls the shaker’s operations.
The shaker has a platform to firmly hold the RBC bag in place using magnets.
The shaker operates at a frequency of 3 Hz and 1.5 inch amplitude
displacement, (peak-to-peak).
