Service Manual
Printer The Printer is a satellite unit that is connected to the rear panel of the device
through an RS232 serial port. The type of connector utilized is a 9-pin
subminiature “D” connector (see Figure 9 on page 30). The function of each pin
is defined in Table 2 on page 30.

The printer records procedure information from the glycerolization and the
deglycerolization protocols. It prints the volume of solution added at each step
and documents the status of the shaker and the centrifuge. The printer is also
used as a quality control tool that prints a profile of the free hemoglobin level
throughout the deglycerolization procedure. In addition, it documents the
operator’s initials and the operator’s verification of the hemolysis level of the
final product.
The device controls the printer but it has an independent power source via a
wall unit adapter that converts 110 VAC or 230VAC into DC.
