5.5.1 Forward Power Calibration
The PA Cabinet forward power and total system forward power RF detectors are set up
to provide approximately 4 Vdc output at nominal operating power. The GUI will then
be calibrated to this voltage to indicate the proper power reading. To calibrate the RF
Detector:
STEP 1 Start with the transmitter at it’s rated forward power, measured at the test
load. Measure the cabinet or system output power with a precision
coupler and digital power meter (calorimetric can also be used if
available).
STEP 2 Go to the Power Calibrations screen shown in Figure 5-3. Check the
detector voltage reading for the stage you are calibrating. If it is 4V (+/-
0.5V) the rf detector requires no adjustment and you can continue to the
next step to finish the software calibration. If it is not within this range
then you will need to refer to paragraph "5.5.6 RF Detector Adjustment"
on page 5-21 to adjust the detector, then return here to finish the
calibration.
