4.4.5 32VDC Power Supplies
The +32VDC on-air serviceable Switching Power Supplies for the PA Modules are
located in the lower front part of the PA Cabinet. One Power Supply serves two PA
modules, and is removable while staying on the air with only two modules OFF. The
Power Supply is removable after the Power Supply Breaker located on the front panel
of each Power Supply assembly is turned OFF. All connections are blind-mate
connections at the rear of the Power Supply.
4.4.6 Low Voltage Power Supplies
The PA Cabinet has redundant Low Voltage Power Supplies that supply +/- 15 volts at
+/-5 amps and +7.5 volts at 13 amps. The voltage from each supply is diode “or”ed
together on the Low Voltage Distribution board. They supply voltage to the Cabinet
controller and to the Module Controllers.
4.5 Multiple PA Cabinets
The higher power transmitter models use multiple PA Cabinets to achieve the required
power. Multiple PA cabinet transmitters utilize a cabinet splitter in the Control Cabinet
to distribute drive power to each PA Cabinet and an external Cabinet Combiner to sum
the power of each PA Cabinet. Multiple PA Cabinet transmitters use the same CAN bus
for communication with each Cabinet Controller and the main controller in the Control
Cabinet.
