Section 4 Theory of Operation
run timer is closed the cabinet will shut off immediately when the rear door is opened. If
S3-8 is open, then the PA cabinet fan will shut off when door is opened and the PA
cabinet will continue to run for 2 minutes before turning off. Switch section S3-5 will
be the response to closing the rear door. When S3-5 is open, the full cabinet operation
restarts when the rear door is closed. If S3-5 is closed, the cabinet will continue to run if
the door is closed before the 2 minute time-out. A start command will be required after
the 2 minute time has shut the cabinet off.
Switch section S3-6 is also dependant on section S3-7. S3-7 is the response to a broken
interlock, and S3-6 is the response after the interlock is satisfied. With S3-7 open, an
external interlock will disable the PA modules only. S3-7 closed, the full cabinet will be
disabled when an external interlock is broken.
When the external interlock is satisfied, S3-6 open, the cabinet will return to operation.
S3-6 closed, will make a start command necessary to restart the cabinet.
4.7.2.4 PA Cabinet Configuration
The DiamondCD™ transmitter can be configured for multiple cabinets and cabinets
with fewer than 16 modules in them. This allows all the PA modules to be
interchangeable since the addressing to the module is at the cabinet level. S1 is a rotary
switch to select the cabinet ID, that is cabinet 1, cabinet 2... in multi-cabinet
transmitters. This cabinet ID is sent to the PA modules so they know which cabinet they
are assigned to.
4.7.2.5 Module Fault Logic
Each PA module in the cabinet, through its’ Module Controller board, will send a
summary fault indication to the Cabinet Controller which will illuminate an LED to
indicate the faulted module. This input is latched at U40 and sent to the micro for
processing and sending the status to the GUI.
4.7.2.6 CAN Interface
The CAN Interface consists of the CAN Controller U33 and the CAN Driver U30.
