Diamond Series™
Section 2
Installation
2
2.1 Introduction
This section contains information necessary to install and perform initial checkout
procedures on Diamond™ Series television transmitters. Drawings identified here may
be found in the drawing package accompanying this manual.
2.2 Installation Planning
The information in this section is intended to be used only as a general guideline in
planning installation. Since all installations differ in some respects and local building
and electrical codes differ, the information contained herein must be adapted for each
particular installation.
2.2.1 Space Requirements
(Refer to Transmitter Outline drawing.)
To allow for servicing the transmitter, a minimum clearance of 4 feet in front of and 5
feet behind the cabinets is recommended. Minimum clearances are shown in the
drawing.
NOTE:
There is a recessed cable tray in the top of each PA Cabinet that is used for cabi-
net interconnect wiring. It is concealed by a flat metal cover. Be sure to locate
this cover before mounting any ducting or building walls which may restrict
access. This is also where the interconnect cables are stored for shipping.
Planning for the transmitter room should allow space for program input, monitoring,
remote control, and test equipment as well as the transmitter. Additional area may also
be required for tower lighting, HVAC equipment, storage, and a workbench.
