Section 4 Theory of Operation
Diamond Series™
4.8.1.1.4 Gain Vs. Freq Compensationa/Calibration
This function stores the module’s frequency response and automatically compensates
the module’s gain for all operating frequencies. Frequency selection is through main
controllers command or bench test PC’s command.
4.8.1.2 Monitor and Protection
To monitor the module’s working condition the Controller uses a 1ms time base. In
protection mode it takes 10 us for the Controller to react.
Over voltage, will turn the Pass FET switches OFF.
Over temperature, will turn the Pass FET switches OFF.
RF Over drive turns the RF gain to the minimum, then turns the pass FET switches
OFF.
4.8.1.2.1 Three-Strike action
Should a momentary failure situation occur (power glitch) the RF Module Controller
will have a three-strike action to recover the RF module from fault and to localize the
fault-strike instead of restarting the whole system by the Main Controller. The three
strike policy is:
The three-strike is within a 10 second window. After that the module will be turned
OFF until it receives the restart command from the Main Controller.
There is a 3 second delay after each strike before it will restart.
The fault-strike restart process is the same as the system restart command, all of the
module faults will be reset.
During the 10 second three-strike window, any of the nuisance faults will be reported
to the Main Controller.
These are the module faults which will be allowed three strikes:
Over Voltage
Under Voltage
Pallet Over Current
Power Amplifier Over Current
Over Temperature
