1.2.2 New Style PA Cabinet
Figure 1-2(a) shows the original cabinet with the original style combiner and 8 way
detectors located at the top and bottom of the cabinet. This shows a 16 way combiner. A
12 way combiner uses the top 12 modules, the 8 way uses only the top 8 modules while
the 4 way uses only the top 4 modules.
Figure 1-2(b) shows the new cabinet with the new style combiner and detectors. This
shows the 16 way combiner. As before, the 8 module combiner uses the top 8 modules,
and the 4 way only uses the top 4 modules, but the 12 module combiner uses the top 6
and bottom 6 modules (the middle 4 modules are removed). This combiner also has a 6
way configuration which includes only the top six modules (half of a 12 way).
