8 Operation via fieldbus
The following sections are only relevant for the BM40IE and BM40PB device
variants. The BM40 has no fieldbus.

8.1 Connecting the fieldbus
The ClipX operates on all fieldbuses as a slave; it cannot be operated as a
master.

Important: You must fit termination resistors at the start and end of
the PROFIBUS network. The resistors are not fitted in the ClipX.
There is, however, a PROFIBUS connector which contains the resis-
tors.
