9) Remove the forward bevel gear/bearing assembly from the
gear case assembly.
Remove the 32 x 58 x 17 mm bearing [inner race] from the
forward bevel gear.

GEAR CASE ASSEMBLY
6) Before removing the oil slinger, check the oil slinger for
wear, damage or deformation, and check the bearing [inner
race] for abnormal sound or play. Replace if necessary.
7) Remove the oil slinger from the vertical shaft by expanding
the cut in the oil slinger with a screwdriver.
8) Remove the 25 x 47 x 15 mm bearing [inner race] from the
vertical shaft.
