3. CYLINDER HEAD ASSEMBLY
DISASSEMBLY
• Mark the removed parts (e.g. valves, springs and other
related parts) and store them securely, grouping them by
intake side and exhaust side for each cylinder.
Install each part in the original position securely.
1) Remove the cylinder head assembly from the outboard
motor (P. 9-4).
2) Loosen the rocker arm valve adjusting lock nut, and loosen
the valve adjusting screw fully.
3) Remove the four 6 x 55 mm flange bolts, and remove the
oil pump assembly and the pump cover O-ring.
Replace the O-ring with a new one on reassembly.
