2. STERN BRACKET/SWIVEL CASE
a. REMOVAL
[POWER TRIM/TILT TYPE]
Remove the following parts.
- Engine assembly (P. 6-2)
- Engine under case (P. 12-4)
- Mount case (P. 13-2)
Use a known-good battery to connect it to the connector
terminals. Take care not to short-circuit the terminals.
1) Connect the battery positive (+) cable to the green terminal
of the power tilt motor 2P connector and the battery
negative (
- ) cable to the blue terminal. Raise the swivel
case assembly to the uppermost position (the piston rod of
the power trim/tilt assembly is extended fully).
2) After raising the swivel case assembly to the uppermost
position, disconnect the battery cables from the power tilt
motor 2P connector terminals.

3) Remove the 6 x 8 mm screw.
4) Remove the two 6 x 23 mm flange bolts. Disconnect the 116
mm lead wire and remove the anode metal. Check the
anode metal for corrosion. Replace the anode metal with a
new one if it is corroded excessively.
