16) Check the needle bearing for abnormal sound or play
before removing it. Replace the needle bearing with a new
one if necessary.
17) Set the special tools on the needle bearing and place a
shop towel or equivalent material under the needle bearing
as shown.

18) Before removing the needle bearing, mark the special tool
at a point level to the gear case end using a straight edge
as shown.
• The mark on the special tool is used for installation of the
needle bearing. Do not erase the mark before installation.
TOOL:
Driver handle, 15 x 280 mm 07949-3710001
19) Remove the 7/8 x 1-1/8 x 1 needle bearing from the gear
case using the special tool.
Replace the needle bearing with a new one on reassembly.
• Remove the needle bearing with care not to damage the
gear case.
