Perform the following steps to connect an IPC through a modem:
Step 1 Access the IPC over a LAN via web browser. Open a web browser, and go to 192.0.0.64 (the
default device IP), and then input the username (admin by default), and the password
(HuaWei123 by default).
Step 2 Set the PPPoE user name and password. Go to Configuration > Advanced Configuration >
Network > PPPoE and input the user name and password, and confirm the password.
For details, see Figure 8-8 in 8.3.3 Configuring PPPoE Settings.
The IPC obtains an IP address from the ISP.

Resolving Domain Names
An IPC dynamically obtains an IP address through PPPoE, which causes inconvenience. To
solve this problem, obtain a domain name from the DDNS provider.
Domain name resolution contains public and private domain name resolution.
To resolve the changing IP address problem by public domain name resolution, perform as
follows:
Step 1 Obtain a domain name from a domain name provider.
Step 2 Set DDNS parameters on DDNSSettings page. Go to Configuration > Advanced Configuration
> Network >DDNS, and enable the DDNS, and then select the DDNS type. For details, see
Figure 8-9 in 8.3.4 Configuring DDNS Settings.
Step 3 Visit the IPC with the obtained domain name.
