The hydraulic uid maximum operating pressure depends on the size of the Unify System.
3.4.2 Pneumatic Manifold Operating Limits
Description Value
Air Maximum operating air pressure 12.5 bar (180 psi)
Air must be ltered and conditioned according to Section 3.6
Cooling water Maximum operating pressure 8 bar (116 psi)
Minimum operating ow rate 2 L/min (0.53 U.S. gal./min) per actuator
Maximum water temperature 90 °C (194 °F)
Use of thermal regulator for melt
temperatures
> 290 °C (554 °F)
3.5 Hydraulic Fluid Specications
Hydraulic pressure is used to actuate the valve stems. The system must meet the following
requirements:
Hydraulic uid must be ltered using a continuous inline lter system and changed every
2,000,000 cycles.
Hydraulic oil ltration to class 20/18/15 ISO 4406 standards
Make sure that the pump controlling the hydraulic pressure is connected to the emergency
stop of the molding machine to relieve the pressure during an e-stop condition.
The temperature rating of the hydraulic uid must exceed the melt temperature of the
system.

Pneumatic Specications
Pneumatic pressure is used to actuate the valve stems. Compressed air for the pneumatic system
must meet the following requirements:
The pressure dew points must be set to 11 °C (20 °F) below the lowest ambient temperature
of the pneumatic system in order to keep compressed air clean and dry.
Compressed air quality must meet the standards specied in DIN ISO 8573-1.
Solid particles - Class 1
Humidity - Class 4
Oil - Class 1
