Preparing the 9080-M9S system to remove and replace a power supply
To prepare the system to remove and replace a power supply, complete the steps in this procedure.
About this task
Attention:
• Removing and replacing the failed power supply is a time sensitive task when the system is
serviced with the power on.
• You must replace the failed power supply within 5 minutes after you remove the power supply
from the system to avoid a system shutdown.
• Ensure that you read the complete procedure to remove and replace a system power supply and
that you can remove and replace the power supply within this time.
Procedure
1. If applicable, open the rack front door.
2. Place your îš³ngers on the indentations located on both sides of the cover (A) and pull the cover away
from the system as shown in the following îš³gure.
CAUTION:
The fans can pull in hair, jewelry, loose clothing, and so forth, and cause injury or
damage. Operate the system with the bezel installed. For service operations, if the front cover
must be removed with the system operating, ensure that all such loose material is secured
away from the fan area, to prevent any loose material from being pulled into the fan.
