Chapter 2. Installing the SAN Volume Controller
2145-SV1 hardware
There are several steps that you must complete to prepare, and then install the system hardware.
Before you begin
Note: If you are adding a new I/O group to an existing system, there is no need to turn off the existing,
operating system nodes.
Procedure
To install the system hardware, complete the following steps.
1. Prepare for the hardware installation by conrming that you have all the planning information and
parts that you require.
2. Install the support rails for the nodes.
3. Install the cable-management arms for the nodes.
4. Install the nodes.
5. Optionally install the expansion enclosures.
6. Connect the Fibre Channel and Ethernet cables to the nodes.
7. Optionally connect the nodes to the expansion enclosures.
8. Verify that the nodes are operational.
Results
After you nish these steps, the hardware installation is complete. The customer is responsible for all
conguration tasks.
