FUNCTIONS FOR TRANSMIT
The IC-7200 has a built-in, low distortion speech
compressor circuit. This circuit increases your aver-
age talk power in the SSB mode, and is especially
useful for DX-ing or noisy conditions when the receiv-
ing station is having difficulty copying your signal.
Push q
MODE
to select the SSB mode.
• Hold down
MODE
for 1 second to toggle between the
USB and LSB modes.
Push w
COMP
to turn the speech compressor func-
tion ON or OFF.
• “ ” appears when the speech compressor func-
tion is ON.
When using the speech compressor, set the com-
pression level in the speech compression level Set
mode, as described on page 6-7.
Appears when the USB
mode is selected.
