Assembly
1 During assembly replace seals 7 and 9, seal supports
8 and 10, shaft seal 20 and ‘O’ rings 5 and 6 with new
parts.
2 Apply a thin coat of hydraulic oil to gear and bearing
components 11 to 18 and assemble in their correct
positions. Ensure the bearings are assembled with
the seal grooves facing away from the gears.
3 Position the assembly into the bore of the housing
with the splined shaft pointing towards the front.
4 Install new seal 7 and new seal support 8 into the
grooves of the front bearings and new seal 9 and new
seal support 10 into the grooves of the rear bearings.
5 Install new ‘O’ ring seals 5 and 6 into the grooves of
the body.
6 Liberally oil new shaft seal 20 and install fully into the
bore of the front cover. Secure with circlip 19.
7 Assemble the front plate 2 to the body ensuring that
the seal lips are not cut by the shaft splines. Align the
marks made during dismantling.
8 Assemble the rear plate 4 to the body aligning the
marks made during dismantling.
9 Fit cap screws 1 and tighten evenly to 47 to 55 Nm
(35 to 40 lbf ft).
