11 Fix a suitable contact plate to the bearing support

12 Position the contact plate on supports under the
press. Allow sufficient room underneath for the shaft
to be pressed out. Place some pliant material e.g.
wood, underneath to cushion the fall of the shaft

13 Press out the shaft. It may be necessary to apply a
little heat to the inner bearing race although this will
destroy the bearing

14 Remove the inner race from the bearing

15 Extract the outer bearing race using a two legged
puller

16 Press out the seal assembly (072) taking care not to
