10 Power supply
MULTICAL® 403 is powered via the two-pole connector in the calculator base. The internal power supply is 3,6 VDC
and can be carried out as battery or mains supply via a number of different supply modules from Kamstrup A/S, see
the below extract from the type number overview in paragraph 3.1.

All supply modules have been evaluated in connection with the extensive type tests, to which MULTICAL® 403 has
been subjected, and it is not permissible to use other supply modules than the ones mentioned above. The supply
modules are covered by the CE-marking and the factory guarantee of the meter.
Note: The modules must not be connected to direct voltage (DC), however except for module no. 4 “24 VAC/VDC
High Power SMPS.
10.1 Battery, 2 x A-cells
Battery supply for MULTICAL® 403 can consist of a supply module, which uses 2 x A-cell lithium batteries (Kamstrup
type 403-0000-0000-900). No tools are required in order to mount or replace the battery module. Each battery cell
has a lithium content of approx. 0,9 g, which excepts the module from being subject to regulations for transportation
of dangerous goods.
The battery lifetime depends on factors like ambient temperature and meter configuration, an indication of battery.
Lifetime is thus a realistic estimate.
