A.2 Identifying SSA**E
This section describes how to identify if your elevator is equipped with SSA**E.
SSA** equipment
The temporary safe working space is created with the following additional SSA**E equipment:
– Landing door emergency opening device with detection
switches.
– Shaft access monitoring (SAM) control and memory unit.
– Safety buffers on the car roof.
– Connection box on the car roof.

To run on inspection or normal drive, all
buf
fers must be in the same position, either
horizontally (normal drive) or vertically
(inspection drive).
A landing door opening at any floor with the
emergency opening key is detected
regardless where the elevator is standing
(detected even if the elevator is at landing).
