8.1 UCM with doors open prevention according to EN 81-1 A3
The elevator control system detects any unintended car movement (UCM), and stops the car
with the machine brakes. The UCM detection is saved in the fault log and resetting can only
be performed by a competent person.
To maintain UCM prevention, perform the regular machine brake maintenance and UCM
periodical inspection. For more information, see section 10 Periodical inspections according
to EN 81-1 Annex E.
8.2 Machine brakes
The machine is a gearless synchronous machine driven by a variable frequency drive. The
machine is located in the pit.
The following table describes the intervals at which you must check various elements of the
machine and brakes.
