8.10 Pit safety device
Opening the bottom floor landing door using the emergency opening key activates the pit
safety device. It prevents the elevator car from descending to the working space in the pit.
The pit safety device must be reset after returning to the landing.
8.10.1 Safety measures
Before starting work, note the following:
– All safety measures for normal elevator maintenance must be implemented and local
safety re
gulations must be followed.
– Before entering the pit, ensure that the pit safety device is activated.
