10.4 Testing the car apron
This section describes testing the operation of the car apron.

1 Drive upwards on RDF until the elevator

out of the pit safety device area
and you have access to the car apron
and the pit ladders (the next test will be
the pit ladder safety switch test) from the
bottom floor landing.
2 Close and lock the maintenance access
panel.

ergency opening key.
4 Lower the car apron:
1. Open the locking mechanism.
2. Lower the apron.
5 Close the landing doors. Check that the landing doors
are mechanically locked.
6 Go to the maintenance access panel
(MAP).
7 Check that the Recall Drive Feature
(RDF) is on. (POS 270.)
8 Reset the Shaft Access Monitor (SAM),
if a

shaft access monitor (SAM).
9 Reset the pit safety device. Refer to APPENDIX B.2 Resetting pit
safety device.
10 Switch
off the Recall Drive Feature
(RDF). (POS 270.)
