10.5 Testing the pit ladder safety switch
This section describes testing the operation of the pit ladder safety switch.
11 Open the landing door with emergency

12 Raise and lock the car apron. 1. Raise the car apron.
2. Close the locking mechanism.
13 Make notes of the test. After completing all tests, record the test
date
and all results in the elevator’s log
book at once.

1 Remove the pit ladders from the normal
position.
NOTE! If there are support hooks in
the ladders, do not install them to the
sill groove. This will allow landing
doors to close.
2 Close the landing doors. Check that the landing door is
mechanically locked.
3 Go to the Maintenance Access Panel
(MAP).
4 Check that the Recall Drive Feature
(RDF) is on.

5 Reset the Shaft Access Monitor (SAM),

le.
