11 RESCUE OPERATIONS
The following sections describe the actions and precautions you must take if you
rescue trapped passengers from the elevator.
WARNING! Danger of severe accident. Passengers must not try to exit the elevator
without the assistance of a competent person. Passengers must wait for a trained person
to arrive on the scene and follow the trained person’s instructions.
NOTE!
1. Access to the bottom floor landing door must always be available
for rescue
personnel. Access to the second floor landing door must be available for rescue
personnel if the maintenance access panel is installed in that floor (option). Access to
any other floor including the topmost landing is not needed.
2. The KONE NanoSpace™ rescue belt clamp KM51025077 is designed to move the
ele

ator car easily only small distance (to the next available door level up or down). To
move the elevator car longer distances may require disconnecting and reinstalling the
clamp several times.
