10.7 Buffer tests
The following sections describe the buffer tests.
10.7.1 Testing the car buffers in pit
Step Action Note
1 Make a car call to the second floor from
the Maintenance Access Pane
l (MAP).
2 If the maintenance access panel (MAP)
is not on the b
ottom floor, close and
lock the MAP.
3 Check that the pit stop switch operates.
1. Open the bottom floor

emergency opening key.
2. Standing on the landing,
press the stop
switch.
3. Close the landing doors and check
that they a
re mechanically locked.
4. Go to the Maintenance Access
Panel (MAP). *
5.
Make a car call from the MAP. The
elevator must not move.
6.
Close and lock the maintenance
access panel (MAP).

* Reset the pit safety device and Shaft
Access Monitor (SAM, if
applicable)
according to APPENDIX B. Resetting
the safety devices.
4 Open the bottom floor
