Pattern recording procedure
Pattern realtime recording
Pattern realtime recording allows you to repeatedly playback a pattern of a specied length, and
continue adding recorded data to it.
1 In Sequencer mode, press the [P6] key, and press the tab 1 button (Pattern Edit).
Tab page 1 (Pattern Edit) will be displayed.
7 Set the length of the pattern in Length, and the time signature in Meter.
8 Press the OK button.
This completes preparations for the pattern you will record.
9 Press the [REC/WRITE] key, then press the [START/STOP] key.
Pattern recording will begin. Play the keyboard and/or operate controllers such as the joystick,
and the data will be recorded.
When recording reaches the end of the pattern, you will return to the beginning of the pattern and
recording will continue.
The data recorded in each pass will be added to the data previously recorded in the pattern.
During pattern recording, you can press the [REC/WRITE] key or check the Remove Data box to
erase undesired data. For details refer to Loop Recording step
6 (page 46 in this manual).
0 Press the [START/STOP] key.
Pattern recording will end.
Song playback
In order to playback song data on the sequencer, the song data must rst be loaded (from disk) or
dumped (via MIDI) into memory. Data can be loaded from oppy disk in Disk mode, and a song
data dump can be received in Global mode.
Once song data has been loaded, it will remain in memory until the power is turned off. Be sure to
save important song data to oppy disk, or dump it to an external MIDI data storage device. If
you turn the power off before saving your song data, it cannot be recovered.
To load or dump data, use the following procedure.
1 Press the [SEQ] key.
You will enter Sequencer mode.
2 In 11b: Song, select a song.
3 Press the [START/STOP] key.
The song that was selected in step
2 will begin playback.
4 To stop playback, press the [START/STOP] key during playback.
If you press the [START/STOP] key once again, playback will resume from the location where it
was stopped.
5 To return to the beginning of the song, press the [RESET] key while playback is stopped.
2 Press Pattern.
3 Use the VALUE controllers to input the pattern num-
ber that you wish to record.
4 If necessary, set the Metronome and Resolution.
5 Press the page menu button.
The page menu commands will appear.
6 Press the page menu command Pattern Parameter.
A dialog box will appear.
