Restore the factory sounds and settings
In Disk mode, load the preload data from the included oppy disk.
1 Insert the included oppy disk into the disk drive.
2 Press the [DISK] key to enter Disk mode.
3 Press the tab 1 button (Load).
4 Select PRELOAD1.PCG or PRELOAD1.SNG.
5 Press the page menu button.
6 Select Load Selected.
7 Check the check box. (This will cause both sound data and playback data to be loaded.)
8 Press the OK button, and data loading will begin.
9 In a half a minute or so, loading will end, and the display will indicate Completed.
Press the OK button to exit the page menu.
Adjust the contrast of the LCD screen
Use the rear panel contrast knob to adjust the contrast.
Use a pedal switch to select programs or combinations
1 Connect a pedal switch to the rear panel.
2 Press the [GLOBAL] key to enter Global mode.
3 Press the [P1] key.
4 In Foot Pedal/Foot Switch Assign, select Foot Switch.
5 Select either Program Up or Program Down.
6 Move to Program Play mode or Combination Play mode.
7 Each time you press the pedal switch, the program or combination will change.
* If the polarity of the switch pedal is incorrect, change the Foot Switch Polarity setting located
below Foot Switch.
Adjust the way that velocity affects the sound
1 Press the [GLOBAL] key to enter Global mode.
2 Press the [P1] key.
3 In Curve, select Velocity.
4 Specify the velocity curve.
4 is standard. For lower numbers, the sound will not change unless you play strongly. For
higher numbers, the sound will change signicantly even if you play normally. 7 and 8 are sta-
ble for medium-strength notes.
* This setting affects the operation of the entire instrument.
* Each program has parameters that adjust the change produced by velocity (playing
strength). Editing these will affect the way in which the change occurs. These settings are
made in Program Edit mode, and can be made independently and in detail.
Simultaneously play two or more programs
A combination allows you to simultaneously play two or more programs in a variety of ways.
Heres how to make settings for a layer.
1 Press the [COMBI] key, and then press the [EDIT] key to enter Combination Edit mode.
2 Press the [P1] key.
3 Press the tab 1 button (Timb Param 1).
4 Select a timbre on which you will play one of the desired programs, and select the bank and
program number for that program.
5 In the same page, set Timb Mode to INT, and set the MIDI channel to Gch (Global MIDI chan-
nel).
6 Press the tab 2 button (Timb Param 2) and adjust the Volume in that page. As necessary, adjust
Pan, Send 1, and Send 2 as well.
7 Press the [P3] key.
8 Press the tab 1 button (Key Zone), and set the Top Key to G9, the Bottom Key to C1, and the
Top Slope and Bottom Slope to 0.
