field. The size of the radiation field is displayed by the size of the illumination area
illuminated by the collimator illumination lamp. The two knobs are rotated according to the
panel mark to increase or decrease the lead leaf opening degree to meet various
dimensional specifications and segmentation photography requirements.
Part 2 is the collimator illumination timing button. When this button is pressed, the
collimator illumination is automatically turned off after 30 seconds of delay. The on/off
cooling time of the collimator illumination needs to have a correct cycle time, such as a
cycle of 1 minute off for 4 minutes. Opening the collimator lamp for a long time without
adequate cooling may cause the indicator to overheat and damage, or it may cause
overheating of the part of the collimator that is close to the indicator.
Figure 5-5
As shown in Figure, the scale and number beside the adjustment knob are displayed
at SID=1.0m, 1.5m and 1.8m. Under different SID conditions, adjust the knob according to
the required exposure field to make the pointer point to the corresponding scale.
NOTE: Different sides adjust the Angle of the same exposure field.
NOTE: In order to reduce the dose of radiation absorbed by the patient, the small
radiation field should be used as far as possible, on the premise of satisfying
the coverage area required.
