TheUniversalUniqueIdentifier(UUID)mustbeupdatedwhenthesystemboardisreplaced.Usethe
AdvancedSettingsUtilitytoupdatetheUUIDintheUEFI-basedserver.
TheASUisanonlinetoolthatsupportsseveraloperatingsystems.Makesurethatyoudownloadthe
versionforyouroperatingsystem.YoucandownloadtheASUfromthewebsite.TodownloadtheASUand
updatetheUUID,completethefollowingsteps.

describedinthisdocument.
Step1.DownloadtheAdvancedSettingsUtility(ASU)at
http://www.ibm.com/support/entry/portal/docdisplay?lndocid=LNVO-ASU.
Step2.ASUsetstheUUIDintheIntegratedManagementModule(IMM).Selectoneofthefollowing
methodstoaccesstheIntegratedManagementModule(IMM)tosettheUUID:
•Onlinefromthetargetsystem(LANorkeyboardconsolestyle(KCS)access)
•Remoteaccesstothetargetsystem(LANbased)
•BootablemediacontainingASU(LANorKCS,dependinguponthebootablemedia)
Step3.CopyandunpacktheASUpackage,whichalsoincludesotherrequiredfiles,totheserver.Make
surethatyouunpacktheASUandtherequiredfilestothesamedirectory.Inadditiontothe
applicationexecutable(asuorasu64),thefollowingfilesarerequired:
•ForWindowsbasedoperatingsystems:
–ibm_rndis_server_os.inf
–device.cat
•ForLinuxbasedoperatingsystems:
–cdc_interface.sh
Step4.AfteryouinstallASU,usethefollowingcommandsyntaxtosettheUUID:
asusetSYSTEM_PROD_DATA.SysInfoUUID<uuid_value>[access_method]
Where:

Upto16-bytehexadecimalvalueassignedbyyou.
