installaSAS/SATAadapter,completethefollowingsteps:
Dependingontheservermodel,theservercomeswithaServeRAIDH1110,aServeRAIDM1115,a
ServeRAIDM5110,oraServeRAID5210SAS/SATAadapterinstalled.
Note:RemovethePCIbracketthatcomewithServeRAIDH1110,ServeRAIDM1115,ServeRAIDM5110
SAS/SATA,oraServeRAID5210adapterbeforeinstallingaSAS/SATAadapterinthededicatedconnector
onthesystemboard.
Attention:
YoucannotinstallServeRAIDH1110whenmicroprocessorIntelXeonE5-2637(FRUpartnumber
49Y8124)isinstalled.
YoucannotinstallServeRAIDM1115or6GbperformanceoptimizedHBAwhenQuadro2000isinstalled.
YoucanreplacetheServeRAIDcontrollerwithanothersupportedServeRAIDcontroller.Foralistof
supportedServeRAIDcontrollers,seehttp://www.lenovo.com/us/en/serverproven/.
Step1.Readthesafetyinformationthatbeginson“Safety”onpagevand“Installationguidelines”
onpage31.
Step2.Turnofftheserverandperipheraldevicesanddisconnectallpowercords.
Step3.Removethecover(see“Removingthecoveronpage34).
Step4.RemovePCIriser-cardassembly1ifnecessary(see“RemovingaPCIriser-cardassembly”on
page220).
Step5.IfyouareinstallinganeworreplacementSAS/SATAadapter,touchthestatic-protectivepackage
thatcontainsthenewSAS/SATAadaptertoanyunpaintedmetalsurfaceontheserver.Then,
removethenewSAS/SATAadapterfromthepackage.
