•Theserversupportsoneultra-slimSATAopticaldrive.

Step1.Readthesafetyinformationthatbeginson“Safety”onpagevand“Installationguidelines”
onpage31.
Step2.Turnofftheserverandperipheraldevicesanddisconnectthepowercordsandallexternalcables.
Note:Whenyoudisconnectthepowersourcefromtheserver,youlosetheabilitytoviewtheLEDs
becausetheLEDsarenotlitwhenthepowersourceisremoved.Beforeyoudisconnectthe
powersource,makeanoteofwhichLEDsarelit,includingtheLEDsthatarelitontheoperation
informationpanel,onthelightpathdiagnosticspanel,andLEDsinsidetheserveronthesystem
board.
Step3.Removethecover(see“Removingthecover”onpage189).
Step4.RemovetheDVDdrivefillerpanelifitisinstalled.LocatethebluereleasetabontherearoftheDVD
drivefillerpanel;then,whileyoupressthetab,pushtheDVDdrivefillerpaneloutofthedrivebay.
