•Donottouchsolderjoints,pins,orexposedcircuitry.
•Donotleavethedevicewhereotherscanhandleanddamageit.
•Whilethedeviceisstillinitsstatic-protectivepackage,touchittoanunpaintedmetalsurfaceonthe
outsideoftheserverforatleast2seconds.Thisdrainsstaticelectricityfromthepackageandfrom
yourbody.
•Removethedevicefromitspackageandinstallitdirectlyintotheserverwithoutsettingdownthedevice.
Ifitisnecessarytosetdownthedevice,putitbackintoitsstatic-protectivepackage.Donotplacethe
deviceontheservercoveroronametalsurface.
•Takeadditionalcarewhenhandlingdevicesduringcoldweather.Heatingreducesindoorhumidity
andincreasesstaticelectricity.
Removingthecover
Usethisinformationtoremovethecover.
Toremovetheservercover,completethefollowingsteps:
Step1.Readthesafetyinformationthatbeginson“Safety”onpagevand“Installationguidelines”

Step2.Turnofftheserverandperipheraldevicesanddisconnectthepowercordsandallexternalcables,
ifnecessary.
Step3.Iftheserverhasbeeninstalledinarack,slidetheserveroutfromtherackenclosure.
Step4.Pullupfirmlyonthebluelatchonthetop(inthecenterofthefrontoftheserver)ofthecoverand
slidethecovertowardtherearoftheserveruntilthecoverhasdisengagedfromthechassis.
