adapter,savetheEMCshieldandfillerpanelfromthebayorPCIorPCIExpressadapterslotcoverinthe
eventthatyoulaterremovethedevice.
Toinstallasimple-swapharddiskdrive,completethefollowingsteps:
Step1.Readthesafetyinformationthatbeginson“Safety”onpagevand“Installationguidelines”
onpage31.
Step2.Turnofftheserverandperipheraldevicesanddisconnectthepowercordsandallexternalcables.
Step3.Removethefillerpanelfromtheemptydrivebay.
Step4.Touchthestatic-protectivepackagethatcontainsthedrivetoanyunpaintedmetalsurfaceonthe
server;then,removethedrivefromthepackageandplaceitonastatic-protectivesurface.
Step5.Installtheharddiskdriveinthedrivebay:
a.Grasptheblackdrivehandleandslidethebluereleaselatchtotherightandalignthedrive
assemblywiththeguiderailsinthebay.
