6.SelectAHCI.
7.Changethestartupsequenceofyourcomputer.FollowingtheinstructionsontheStartupmenuinthe
BIOSSetupUtility,settheCD-ROMdrivetostartrst.
8.PressF10.
9.InserttheCDforWindowsXPintegratedwithServicePack2intotheCDorDVDdrive,andrestartthe
computer.
10.Toinstallathird-partySCSIorRAIDdriverrst,pressF6.
11.Whenprompted,selectSforSpecifyAdditionalDevice.
12.Whenprompted,insertthediskettethatyoucreatedinstep2,andpressEnter.
13.ScrollthelistofdriverstoselectIntel
®
MobileExpressChipsetSATAAHCIController(Mobile),
andpressEnter.
14.Tocontinuetheinstallation,pressEnteragain.Leavethedisketteinthedriveuntilthenextreboot;the
softwaremayneedtobecopiedfromthedisketteagainwhenthelesarecopiedduringsetup.
15.CompletetheWindowsXPServicePack2installation.
16.InstallWindowsXPServicePack3byusingMicrosoftWindowsupdate,MicrosoftDownloadCenter,
orWindowsXPServicePack3installationCD.
17.RestoreC:\SWTOOLSfromthebackupcopyyoumadebeforestartingtheinstallation.
18.ApplythePCMCIAPowerPolicyRegistryPatch.Todothis,gotoC:\SWTOOLS\OSFIXES\PCMCIAPW\,
double-clickinstall.bat.Thenfollowtheinstructionsthatappearonthescreen.
