Problem:SounddoesnotcomefromtheBluetoothheadset/headphonebutcomesfromthelocal
speakereventhoughtheheadset/headphoneisconnectedusingHeadsetproleorAVprole.
Solution:Dothefollowing:
1.Exittheapplicationthatusesthesounddevice(forexample,WindowsMediaPlayer).
2.OpentheControlPanelbyclickingStartControlPanel.
3.ClickHardwareandSoundSound.
4.SelectthePlaybacktab.
5.IfyouareusingHeadsetprole,selectBluetoothHands-freeAudioandclicktheSetDefault
button.IfyouareusingAVprole,selectStereoAudioandclicktheSetDefaultbutton.
6.ClickOKtoclosetheSoundwindow.
Problem:PIM(PersonalInformationManager)itemssentfromWindows7andWindowsVistacannotbe
receivedcorrectlyintotheaddressbookofanyotherBluetooth-enableddevice.
Solution:Windows7andWindowsVistasendPIMitemsinXMLformat,butmostBluetooth-enabled
deviceshandlePIMitemsinvCardformat.IfanotherBluetooth-enableddevicecanreceiveale
throughBluetooth,aPIMitemsentfromWindows7andWindowsVistamightbesavedasalewith
theextension.contact.

Notes:IfyouareusingtheMicrosoftstandardBluetoothfeaturesandyouwanttoaccessinformationabout
howtousetheBluetoothfunction,dothefollowing:
1.PressFn+F5toturnonBluetooth.
2.ClickStartControlPanel.
3.ClickPrintersandOtherHardware.
4.ClickBluetoothDevices.
5.ClicktheOptionstab.
6.ClickLearnmoreaboutBluetoothSettings
Note:IfyouareusingtheThinkPadBluetoothwithEnhancedDataRateSoftware,refertothefollowing
instructions.
Note:CheckyourconnectionanytimeandmakesurethatnootherBluetooth-enableddeviceissearchingfor
thedevicetowhichyouwanttoconnect.SimultaneoussearchingisnotallowedintheBluetoothconnection.
Problem:YousearchforaBluetooth-enableddevicebyclickingViewdevicesinrangeinMyBluetooth
Places,butyoucannotndanything.
Solution:MakesurethatthedevicetowhichyouwanttoconnectisenabledfortheBluetoothconnection.
Aftermakingsureoftheabove,turntheBluetoothpoweroffandthenonagain,orrestartyourcomputer.
Thensearchforthedeviceagain.
Problem:YoucannotconnecttoanyBluetooth-enableddevice.
Solution:MakesurethatbothyourcomputerandthedeviceareturnedonandtheirBluetoothantennas
areenabled.
Aftermakingsureoftheabove,turntheBluetoothpoweroffandthenonagain,orrestartyourcomputer.
Thenre-establishyourconnectiontothedevice.
Iftheproblempersists,re-installtheBluetoothsoftwareandreestablishyourconnectiontothedevice.
