theentryforitinthelistandpressthexkey.Thismovestheentrytothe“Bootpriorityorder”list.
•Problem:Aftersettingaharddiskpasswordontheharddiskdriveofthecomputer,youmovedthedrive
toanothercomputer.Nowyoucannotunlocktheharddiskpassword.
Solution:Yourcomputersupportsanenhancedpasswordalgorithm.Computersolderthanyoursmay
notsupportsuchasecurityfunction.
Solidstatedriveproblems
•Problem:WhenyoucompresslesorfoldersbyuseofthedatacompressionfunctioninWindows,and
thendecompressthem,theprocessofwritingtoorreadingfromthelesorfoldersisslow.
Solution:ApplythediskdefragmentationtoolinWindowsforfasteraccesstothedata.
Opticaldriveproblems
•Problem:Theopticaldrive,suchasaCD,DVD,orCD-RWdrive,doesnotwork.
Solution:MakesurethatthecomputeristurnedonandaCD,DVD,orCD-RWisproperlyloadedonthe
centerpivotofthedrive.(Youshouldhearaclick.)
Makesurethatthedriveconnectorisrmlyconnectedtothecomputer.Ifyouuseanoptionthathasabay
forinstallingthedrive,makesurethattheoptionisrmlyconnectedtothecomputerandworksproperly.
Makesurethatthedrivetrayisrmlyclosed.
Makesurethatthedevicedriversarecorrectlyinstalled.
•Problem:YouhearanoisefromthedrivewhentheCD,DVD,orCD-RWisspinning.
Solution:Ifthediscisnotproperlyloadedonthecenterpivotofthedrive,itmayrubagainstthedrive
coverandmakeanoise.Makesurethatthediscisloadedproperlyinthedrive.
•Problem:Thedisctrayoftheopticaldrivedoesnotcomeoutatoncewhenyoupresstheejectbutton.
Solution:Theemptydisctraymaynotcomeoutasquicklyasyouexpect,butthedelayisnormal.When
nodiscisintheopticaldrive,thedriveisautomaticallyturnedofftosaveenergy.Then,whenyoupress
theejectbutton,ittakesalittlewhiletoturnontheopticaldriveandpulloutthedisctray.Ifyouneedto
pulloutthetrayimmediately,presstheejectbuttonagain.
