Chargingthebattery
Whenyoucheckbatterystatusandndthatthepercentageofpowerremainingisloworwhenthepower
alarmalertsyouthatremainingpowerislow,youneedtochargeyourbatteryorreplaceitwithacharged
battery.
Ifanacoutletisconvenient,plugtheacpoweradapterintoit,andtheninsertthejackintothecomputer.
Thebatterywillchargeinaboutthreetosixhours.Thisisaffectedbythebatterysizeandthephysical
environment.Thebatterystatusindicatorwillletyouknowthatthebatteryischarging,andwillalsonotify
youwhenthebatteryisfullycharged.
Note:Toincreasethelifeofthebattery,thecomputerdoesnotstartrechargingthebatteryiftheremaining
powerisgreaterthan95%.
Maximizingbatterylife
Tomaximizethelifeofthebattery,dothefollowing:
•Usethebatteryuntilthechargeiscompletelydepletedorthebatterystatusindicatorstartsblinking
orange.
•Rechargethebatterycompletelybeforeusingit.Thebatteryisfullychargedifthebatteryindicatorshows
greenwhentheacpoweradapterispluggedin.
•Foranewbatteryorabatterythatyouhavenotusedrecently,dooneofthefollowing:
1.Rechargethebatterycompletelybeforeusingit.Thebatteryisfullychargedwhentheacpower
adapterispluggedinandthebatteryindicatorisgreen.
2.Usethebatteryuntilthechargeiscompletelydepleted—untilthebatterystatusindicatorstarts
blinkingorange.
•Alwaysusepowermanagementfeaturessuchaspowermodes,screenblank,sleep(standby),and
hibernation.
Managingyourbatterypower
WithPowerManager,youcanadjustyourpowersettingstogiveyouthebestbalancebetweenperformance
andpowersaving.
