Considerationsforattachinganexternalmonitor
•Wheninstallinganoperatingsystem,youmustinstallthedisplaydriverforyourmonitorthatissupplied
withthecomputer,andtheMonitorINFlethatissuppliedwiththeexternalmonitor.
•Ifyousetaresolutionhigherthantheresolutionyouareusingonthepanel,anduseapanelthatdoesnot
supportthatresolution,takeadvantageofthevirtualscreenfunction,whichenablesyoutodisplayonlya
partofthehigh-resolutionscreenimageyourcomputerproduces.Youcanseeotherpartsoftheimage
bymovingthescreenwiththeTrackPointorotherpointingdevice.
•Iftheexternalmonitoryouareusingisoutdated,theresolutionandtherefreshratemaybelimited.
UsingtheDVImonitor
Ifyourcomputerhasoneoftheoptionalexpansionunits,aThinkPadMiniDockPlusSeries3oraThinkPad
MiniDockSeries3,youcanusetheDigitalVisualInterface(DVI)monitorthroughtheDVIconnector
ofthatunit.
