Conserving supplies
Conserving supplies lowers printing costs.
• When printing drafts, conserve toner by changing the Toner Darkness setting to a value less
than 8 in the print driver.
• Reduce paper consumption by using the duplex feature to print on both sides of the paper.
Set the MFP to Duplex in the print driver for individual print jobs.
• Use the Paper Saver setting.
Maintaining your MFP
Periodically, you need to replace the print cartridge and clean the MFP to maintain optimum print
quality. See Replacing the print cartridge and Cleaning under the print cartridge for more
information.
If several people are using the MFP, you may want to designate a key operator to do the setup and
maintenance of your MFP. Refer printing problems and maintenance tasks to this key operator.
