Speaker Settings
Distinctive Ring Settings
Fax Modes
Defaults Menu – Fax Settings – Speaker Settings
Menu item Purpose Values and descriptions
Speaker Mode Specifies how long the
speaker remains on.
Always Off The speaker is set off.
On until Connected* The speaker is on and issues
the noise until the fax
connection is made.
Always On The speaker is set on.
Ringer Volume Sets the MFP fax speaker
ringer volume.
Off The speaker volume is off.
On* The speaker volume is on.

Single Ring
Pattern
Answers calls with a one ring
pattern.
On* The one ring pattern is set on.
Off The one ring pattern is set off.
Double Ring
Pattern
Answers calls with a double ring
pattern.
On* The double ring pattern is set on.
Off The double ring pattern is set off.
Triple Ring
Pattern
Answers calls with a triple ring
pattern.
On* The triple ring pattern is set on.
Off The triple ring pattern is set off.

Fax Mode Sets which fax method or
mode that is used.
Analog* The fax method is by a telephone line.
Fax Server The fax job is sent to a fax server for
transmission.
Manual Fax Sets the MFP to manual fax
only which requires a line
splitter and a telephone
hand set. You use a regular
telephone to answer an
incoming fax job and to dial
a fax number.
Note: Press # 0 on the
numeric keypad to take you
directly to the Manual Fax
menu item.
On Manual fax is set on.
Off* Manual fax is set off.
