Corrected light scattering this is the scattering signal from a detector
with both the light and dark background subtracted from it. (The light
background is modified using the multiple scattering algorithm and cor
-
rected for the transmission, which is affected by some of the background
light being obscured by the spray particles.) The Particle Size Distribution
is calculated from the corrected light scattering pattern.
The relationship between these measurements is not quite as simple as described
above. In fact the multiple scattering algorithm is applied to the corrected light
scattering pattern.
The following are examples of good (top graphic) and bad (lower graphic)
background measurements:
Alarms
Alarms are used to send the user a warning if conditions are not suitable for
measurement, for example if the optics are contaminated.
