Power Steering Fluid
IMPORTANT: Use only the specified lubricant.
IMPORTANT: Do not run the power steering system dry. That will damage the pump.
1. Position the sterndrive unit so that it is straight back.
2. Remove the fill cap from the power steering pump reservoir and check the fluid level. Add fluid
as required.
NOTE: Be prepared to add fluid to the pump when first starting the engine.

Power Trim Pump
1. Place the sterndrive unit in full DOWN/IN position.
2. Observe the oil level. Trim pump oil level should be within the "MIN" and "MAX" lines on the
reservoir.
3. Raise and lower the sterndrive unit to the full UP/OUT position 6 ‑ 10 times to purge air from
system.
4. Place the sterndrive unit in full DOWN/IN position.
